few information abt. IMS

Hey freshers.. Few Information About IMS-look . Gonna join INFOSYS-MYSORE on sept, 22nd, Ass.s/w engineer.I got some info about IMS from one of the senior working @ INFOSYS-IMS. This info is for all the candidates who r from Bsc/ BCA graduates.So am sharing here..1. How is the training? is it interesting ? Is it really very difficult to clear?Ans: Training @ Mysore ll be the best part in your life, really you can learn a lot. You ll be having some 7 or 8 module tests, we have to clear at least 5tests. You need to get 4 out of 5(cgpa). It means each paper is for 100 marks, they ll convert it for 5marks, so u need to get 80marks, in order to maintain 4(cgpa), if your CGPA goes less than 4, then u ll be forced to quit. So put some effort n do well.You will have to clear an exam to get into projects. its called as comp re exam, they ll give u some project n u need to finish in 3hours. Its not much difficult if u r clear with concepts. If the exam is not cleared with 2 attempts, they might ask you to quit.Note :Training will be easy for Bsc / BCA graduates when compared to B.E /B.Tech candidates.2. What is the nature of job? does it involve coding?Ans: IMS is kinda support job, so there wont be any coding involved, there's a plethora of technologies available in IMS stream, so u r in thr right IBU, dont worry.3. How about ON-SITE opportunities in IMS ?Ans :Chances for going abroad is very bright in IMS, but it depends upon the project u r into.. also u should have some luck4. If i do a P.G degree thru correspondence, will it be helpful for promotion or its got nothing to do with promotion?ANS: Only P.G. can get you a role change, infy offers M.Sc I.T. course for IMS. few ppl said Carrer Growth for BSc in Infy is very low, so its better to opt for any P.G course thru corres.5. Do i need to work in shifts?Ans : YES, you need to work in 24*7 Environment
